How to Use Vocabulary Book14
Making the Most of This Book
In this third action-verb book, your child will continue learning new action verbs through simple imperative sentences and hands-on craft activities. The book includes fourteen sets of fun, engaging, and appropriately challenging projects.
Each activity requires your child to follow step-by-step instructions carefully. All directions are written in easy-to-understand imperative sentences and supported with clear, step-by-step illustrations. This helps children strengthen both their reading and listening skills while enjoying creative tasks.
Tips for Parents
✅ Let your child put the instruction pictures in order!
Each craft activity begins with a picture-based sequencing task. Children can look at the six pictures and figure out the correct order of the steps just by using the illustrations. Encourage your child to number each picture from one to six. This helps them understand the sequence of actions before they start the actual craft activity.
✅ Let your child read through instruction sentences on the next page!
On the following page, you’ll find scrambled sentences that match the pictures from the previous activity. Your child’s task is to read each instruction and figure out the correct order. Encourage them to read the sentences aloud and then number them to show the proper sequence.
✅ Invite your child to rewrite the instructions in the correct sequence!
Below the second activity, you’ll find a table with the pictures already placed in the correct order. In the column beside each picture, your child rewrites the matching instruction they previously read and numbered. This step reinforces their understanding of the sequence and gives them extra practice using imperative sentences.
✅ It’s crafting time!
Encourage your child to read through all the instructions several times before they begin. Let them choose any craft project they’d like to make from the book. Before they start, check to see if they remember the steps in the correct order. This helps them build confidence and ensures they can follow the instructions independently while creating their craft.
