How to Use Alphabet Book8
Making the Most of This Book
Book 5, 6, and 7 in the Alphabet Series introduce uppercase letters. Each uppercase letter is waiting at its cozy home for its little one to come back from school on the day after a snowfall. You can help your children review the name of each house and its matching lowercase letter once more. Let your children also observe how the little letters grow into big letters through the series of photos hung on the walls of each home.
Tips for Parents
✅ Review each lowercase letter a to h and its home name!
By now, your children can recognize all the lowercase letters and confidently match them to their cozy homes. Just make sure they remember the name of each home:
robot, star, tire, umbrella, videg game, wing, box, yo-yo, zipper house
You can use “Cinderella” to help young learners remember the sound of “umbrella.”
Say something like: “It’s not Cinderlla, it Umbrella”
✅ Check whether each lowercase letter finds its home!
Because of the heaps of snow on the road and in front of all the houses, some little ones make mistakes and end up at the wrong homes. Ask your children whether each letter has arrived at its home or not, and why they think some letters made mistakes.
✅ Now it’s time to meet the big letters — R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z
Each one has special photos hanging on the wall, showing how the little letters grew up into big ones. Ask your children to look at each photo and tell how the little letter changed as it grew. This will help them notice how lowercase letters and uppercase letters look different but still belong to the same family.
✅ Let your children have fun with a Letter Matching Game!
Make cards for all the lowercase and uppercase letters. Mix them up, and let your children find which little letter belongs to which big letter. Once they know the game, you can make it even more exciting by using a stopwatch to see how fast they can match all the letters!
