How to Use Alphabet Book3

Making the Most of This Book

Since these alphabet books are mostly visual, the text is here to guide you

as a parent in helping your child learn and explore. The goal isn’t just to read a story

—it’s to engage your child, build letter recognition, and make learning fun

Use the tips below to turn each page into an interactive learning experience.

Tips for Parents

Go through the houses together shown on the first two pages:
robot, star, tire, umbrella, video game, wing, box, yo-yo, zipper house

✅ Once your child is familiar with all eight houses, introduce the matching lowercase letters that appear in the windows as you read through the book;

r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z

✅ Until your child recognizes lowercase letters, try saying,
“In the robot House, there’s r,” instead of “r” lives in the robot House.”
This helps your child connect the first sound of a familiar word to the name of each letter.

These are some memory games you can play with your children:

-Say 2, 3, or more letters in a row and ask your child to repeat what they heard.

Ex) Say “r, u, w.” Then, ask your child to wait for a few seconds and try to say the letters they remember.

-Write 2, 3, or more letters and show them for just a second, then ask your child to say what they saw.

Ex) Write “s, w, y” on a piece of paper and show them for just a second, then ask your child to say what they remember.

Now your children can read any word using the lowercase letters they’ve learned.    You can go through the text in the book to make sure they recognize each letter.

Questions to Ask / Conversation Prompts
Ask your child to share their thoughts about each house:

“Who lives in the Apple House?”

“Would you like to live in the Apple House?”,

“Which house starts with the same sound as ___?”

“Can you think of another word that begins with this letter?”

“Whose home is your favorite?”

If English is not your first language, just use your first language:

When kids feel emotionally connected to the story, everything that follows-games, practice, and drills—feels natural and fun.
So don’t worry! Just talk about the pictures in your language, and then say each house and letter in English.

Don’t forget! There are lots of fun and engaging online learning activities waiting on our website. Go explore them with your children and enjoy learning together!
